Phnom Penh, 18 July 2024: The Ministry of Interior has announced new height requirements for candidates intending to take the National Police Officer Examination starting in 2025. This was disclosed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha during the closing ceremony of an administrative training course on computers and video editing, held in Prey Veng province on July 17, 2024.

Addressing nearly 400 participants, mostly students, Sar Sokha stated that male candidates must be at least 1.70 meters tall, while female candidates must be at least 1.65 meters tall.

Along with these new height requirements, the Ministry has prepared guidelines and a commission mechanism to ensure the police officer recruitment process is transparent. Priority will be given to candidates with the necessary qualifications who reside locally.

During the event, Sar Sokha also acknowledged the 378 trainees who completed their training in administration and video production. He encouraged them to prepare for the upcoming National Police Examination, expressing hope that they would utilize their new skills in their daily work with the Prey Veng Provincial Youth Team.

On behalf of the Prey Veng Provincial Government Working Group, the chairman commended the Provincial Youth Working Group and stakeholders for organizing the training. The program provided free educational opportunities to the trainees, who all successfully completed their courses.

Sar Sokha urged the Prey Veng Provincial Youth Working Group to continue offering quality training regularly to support the Royal Government's Pentagon strategy, particularly in strengthening human resources.
